2012 Africa CUP Tag and Brag approaching quickly

The dates are set, 1 and 2 December, we know where it will be (at Blades and Triggers field in Boksburg) and you know you want to play there. Well, I guess you have many questions about how much it will cost, how do I register, etc. The best is to go check the SASP and GPPL FB pages or just check the link to the 2012 Africa Cup FB event. Here you will be able to get all the news.

For international or local teams that are travelling and need some support, please contact us either via email (oliver(at)sasp-paintball.co.za or philip(at)sasp-paintball.co.za) of via our SASP FB group. Why would you travel all the way to the 2012 Africa Cup (South Africa) to play paintball? Well, that’s easy. It will be summer, hot and sunny. Furthermore, we will be hosting a great tournament here that has the GPPL 5-man Pro, Div 1 and Up division as well as 3-man Elite and 3-man Open division. There are great prizes that will still be announced in the coming weeks and just overall it has a really great vibe.

We are really hoping to welcome you and your team (whether it is a paintball team or a retail team as part of any brands) to the tournament. You will have an amazing time here, paintball and social/holiday and there will be no place better to be than at the Africa Cup in December.

We also offer support in arranging travel and holiday plans if you come through and this offer is not limited only to the players or representatives themselves but also for friends and family that they plan on bringing along. So, if you have any questions and want more detail on the tournament at the end of the year please feel free to contact myself us.

If you want to participate at this event as a sponsor or a retailer and have a stand at the tradeshow (or sponsor prizes) please feel free to contact us to discuss any details. We will be happy to share the tradeshow contract and layout with you and take you through some of the exciting initiatives we have planned to support the players and the retailers at the tradeshow.

You will love South Africa, you will love the vibe at the tournament and you will love the paintballers in South Africa. If you are looking for a great holiday and play some good paintball then Africa Cup 2012 is the place to be. Get all the event information here

We have taken quite a while to design the new features on and optimise this website in such a way that combines all the important aspects of a paintballing website. We have tried to keep things managable, clean and user friendly. One of the main things we are focussing on is the paintball events calendar.

In our EVENTS CALENDAR we have started compiling all the dates from the paintball leagues and competitions around the world we could find information on. In our calendar you will find the dates and tournament info for the following events:

From South Africa:

  • Gauteng Professional Paintball League (GPPL)
  • Southern Paintball League (SPL)
  • Kwazulu Natal Paintball League (KPPL)
  • The South African Regional Paintball League (The SA RPL)
  • Paintball CIty 3-man (PBC 3-man)
  • Paintball City Bush League (PBC Bush League)
  • Wolwe Bos (Wolwebos 3-man League)

From the world:

  • PSP (USA)
  • The RPL (USA)
  • NPPL (USA)
  • Millennium (Europe)
  • DPL (Germany)
  • PALS (ASIA)
  • MPOC (Malaysia)
  • Super 7 Series (Australia)

These are by no means the only leagues that are out there and we would like to encourage you to send us the information we will need to put your league, competition or tournament on our calendar. Please go to the "Contact Us" section to submit the information. We are still looking for information about the leagues, tournaments and competition in countries like:

  • UK
  • France
  • Brazil

If your league is not on here, make sure you send the information to us to get it on here now.

We will be working hard to give you a truly international events calendar that you can trust and is updated. Use it as your source for tournamnet info and tell your friends about this site and where to get all their information from.

The events are also divided into various manageable categories to help you through the various tournaments offered all aroud the world. We currently classify all non-SA tournaments as international but if you would like us to split that up by country please let us know.

Also feel free to start using our FORUM. There are no commercial restriction on this forum so you can chat about any brand, shop or piece of gear that you want to without being moderated.

Also check out the Planet Eclipse, DYE and DPL sections for the latest information.

To make sure you are part of this great site please register so that you will be able to use all the features that are and will be offered by this website. We look forward to becoming the paintball information source of choice for you.

What happened this weekend in paintball

The past weekend we saw action in South Africa (PBC 3-man), Germany (DPL 3rd Bundesliga) and Austira (OPL X). To find out what happened at these events you have come to the right website. Ckeck it out

Upcoming Events

PBC 3-man (Germiston, South Africa)

This past weekend saw the 3rd edition of the PBC A Division and the 5th edition of the PBC B-Division. As always, Paintball City proved to be an awesome venue and ever popular with the teams. The A-Division played their games on the Sunday whereas the B-Division played on the Saturday

We are still waiting to get feedback about what transpired at the event but keep your eyes on this slot for an update.

Click here to visit their Facebook page.

DPL 3rd Bundesliga Event 1 (Germany)

The DPL 3rd Bundesliga is divided into various zones and it was the North-East Region fight it out at Neon Paintball in Henstadt-Ulzburg and the South-West battled for glory at the Tanked Arena in Günzburg. With this division having their first event, table top spot was up for grabs. So who took the top spot?

3rd Bundesliga - North East Division:

  1. Wengersen On Fire
  2. Braindead 3
  3. Aquafiestas

3rd Bundesliga - South West Division:

  1. Destination Wetzlar
  2. Rain of Fire
  3. Rosenheim Orexine

To get more information on the events please visit their website or just Click Here. Also see their Facebook page and become a fan so that you are up to date of what is happening in this league by clicking here.

OPL X (Paintball Dreamfields, Austria)

The event venue for this OPL X event was at the Dreamfields, also better known among players as "?Trautmannsdorf Beach?". The reason for that is that due to the sand that is on the astro gives it a certain beach feeling when playing there, unfortunately this sand also makes its way into the players’ shoes and markers. Catering consisted of great specialities from the grill, amongst which there were delicious spare ribs.

The organisers used the feedback from the build-up to the season and significantly improved the administration and registration on the day. This means that there were enough game plans which has made things much easier for the teams in planning their day.

The attending teams that once again presented themselves at their utmost best, except on a few occasions. It was only the bottom of the log team had to play with one player less after the player was dismissed from the tournament for un-sportsman-like bahviour. Team Ultimate Dynamics missed two of their Sölnder players and they unfortunately made them slide down the rankings by 3 positions in the overall rankings. Team Freefall also lost two games on the day and paid for it with losing the top spot on the table. Teams Mercs XS, TNT, Paradise Connection and Fusion gained positions on the overall table and are slowly making their way up the table. The surprise of the day came from Balkan Express who, after a poor showing at the first OPL X event, beat the teams Mercs XS and TNT. One possible reason for this: Seed oil from Steiermark!?

Current OPL X standings - die Top 3

Vienna United
After proving to the rest of the field on the first day that they should not be underestimated, they drove that message home by winning their games 4:2, 4:1, 4:0 und 4:0 and deservedly played their way to the top of the table.

RMG
The Slovaks lost their first game of the day but pulled themselves together and took three wins in a row. One of those wins came against the then table topping team Freefall. A possible revenge after the “knock out” in Bitburg was thus thwarted. Their strong performance on the day was rewarded with a second place on the log.

Mercs XS
Although only having 5 players available on the day the Team Mercs beat the previously table topping Team Freefall to the third position on the log. Strengthened by a legionnaire form
Lithuania allowed Mercs XS to win both the games against Freefall. Their great performance on the day kept them in the running for the overall top spot for the end of the season.
